WEEKLY REFLECTION by Pastor Lap Dinh on Jeremiah‬ ‭32‬:‭33

They have turned their back to Me and not their face; though I taught them, teaching again and again, they would not listen to accept discipline.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭32‬:‭33

God’s people have a tendency, over time, to turn their backs to Him and not their faces. The moment we begin to turn toward the things we like, love, and adore in the world, we are no longer able to behold the face of God. As a result, our relationship with Him slowly but surely fades away. We begin to forget God’s teachings, and the outcome is that we no longer listen or accept His godly and beneficial discipline.

But there is still hope. To prevent this from happening, we need to listen carefully to His Word, accept His discipline, hold His teaching dear to our hearts, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus—God’s face, always. The outcome is that we will not turn our backs on the Lord. Yet doing this alone is almost impossible, and God knows that. So He places us in His Son’s Body—the Church—where Jesus is the Head and we are members of one another, so that we can keep each other reminded and encouraged. May the Holy Spirit empower us to live out this reality.
