(Further reflections on "Arise"--Sunday, 3-Dec-2023)
Brokenness and spiritual death are the default mode of human being due to the Fall (Genesis 3). God became flesh (John 1:14)--Jesus, being full of grace and truth, who dwelt with sinful human in order to redeem them by paying the death penalty of sin, so that when people come to believe in Him, they will not only be saved from eternal damnation, but also be healed from various brokenness, illness (in many occasions), and even bodily resurrection (past, present, and future). It is important to note that when someone experience or witness healing and resurrection, we understand that it is because of God's compassion or mercy, not because by any human might or scheme or magic.
Now in order for us to fully experience what Jesus has for us, it is also crucial to notice and live out the following patterns (drawing out from Acts 9:32-43)
1.) Hear the Word and follow His instructions even when we do not fully understand all the "Whys." We just need to know "Who" and "What." Who is Jesus to us? What did He do for us?
2.) Worshiping the Lord must be a lifestyle and not just once a week. The frequency and intensity of our prayer show how close we are and how intimate is our relationship with Jesus.
3.) Grace is unfathomable and welcoming. Truth is unstoppable and cannot be silenced. Those who have encountered Jesus will be transformed by His grace and truth. And they cannot and will not stop speaking about what they have seen and heard (cf. Acts 4:20).
Let us live and experience fully what Jesus does, that is, He heals and resurrects. Amen.
