(Further reflections on “A Divine Appointment”—Sunday 21-Jan-2024)
Everybody is busy. So there is no point that we keep saying to ourselves and others (and even to God), “I’m so busy, you know. I don’t have time to hear God’s voice, read His word, talk/pray to Him, and practice generosity.
So the question really is, “Are you willing to do God’s [general/specific] will? The answer will be answered honestly and thoroughly if/when one sincerely desire to live a godly life which has, but not limited to, these traits: having the fear of the Lord, being generous, and having a prayerful lifestyle- not only weekly, but daily.
Now in order for someone to be willing to carry God’s will, he or she should first know His will. Do you know God’s (general/specific) will for your life? If you do, praise the Lord! May His will be done in your life. But if you don’t, then spend time with the Lord through His word (journeying together with the church through the 2024 Bible Reading Plan), pray, and practice generosity through giving tithes and offering which will be channeled for (a) reaching out and winning the lost souls; (b) making disciples and building Christ-centered families; and (c) sending out evangelistic teams and planting churches.
When godliness is lived out in willingness (cf. Acts 10:1-8), you will begin to see divine appointments (almost) everywhere. Your heart starts to beat after Jesus’ heart. Your mind embarks on a journey of “having a mind of Christ.” Your hands/feet move in tune with God’s will and plan for your life and the life of the Body of Christ—our church, of which you are active and functioning members. On this note, do keep us in prayer as our ministry team and I are going to experience “divine appointments” in a new territory in Dalat, Vietnam. Do keep us in prayer!
